Penn State Women’s Volleyball Releases 2024 Schedule

Penn State women’s volleyball released its schedule for the 2024 season Thursday afternoon. The Nittany Lions will play in three mid-season tournaments in its 30-game schedule, which is set to kick off on Friday, August 30.

Penn State will kick off its season on the road against out-of-conference opponents Tennessee on August 30 before facing Temple two days later. The Nittany Lions will then open up their season at Rec Hall on Tuesday, September 3, against Louisville before heading to the Kentucky Tournament to face Kentucky on Friday, September 6, and Ball State on Saturday, September 7.

Penn State will then return home to host the Penn State Invitational against Duke on Friday, September 13, and either Princeton or St. John’s on Saturday, September 14. A road trip to Pitt will offer a break between tournaments on Wednesday, September 18, before Penn State hosts the Penn State Classic against JMU and Yale the following weekend.

The Nittany Lions begin their conference schedule on the road against Purdue on Wednesday, September 25, before hosting Big Ten opponents Michigan State, Maryland, and Oregon in order.

Penn State will then begin a three-game road stretch against the Spartans, Indiana, and Ohio State from Friday, October 11, to Friday, October 18. A Sunday battle against Minnesota will bring the Nittany Lions home before they go out west to take on UCLA on Friday, October 24, and USC on Sunday, October 26.

After going to Los Angeles, the Nittany Lions will face two-game stretches at home and on the road, facing Michigan and Iowa at home, Northwestern and Wisconsin on the road, and then coming back home to face Purdue and Washington.

Matches against Rutgers on Wednesday, November 27, and Nebraska on Friday, November 29, will round out the regular season.

The 2023 edition of the Nittany Lions went 23-9 with a 15-5 record in the Big Ten. Penn State reached the regional semifinals of the NCAA Tournament before falling to Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin.
