Former Penn State Men’s Hockey Captain Brandon Biro Signs One-Year Deal With Seattle Kraken
Former Penn State men’s hockey captain Brandon Biro signed a one-year, two-way $775,000 contract with Seattle Kraken, the team announced Monday. Biro signed with the Buffalo Sabers as an undrafted free agent in 2020 and played four seasons for the franchise before heading west.
The 26-year-old forward played six games in Buffalo where he took just two shots last season, both of which were goals.
Most of Biro’s time was spent playing for Buffalo’s AHL affiliate, the Rochester Americans, where he was named an alternate captain last season. Biro played 171 games for the Americans and tallied 46 goals and 94 assists for 140 total points, including 16 goals and 27 assists in 59 games last season.
With Penn State, Biro was known as one of the Nittany Lions’ best-ever forwards. He ranked third all-time in assists with 75, ninth all-time in goals with 41, and fifth all-time in points with 116 while appearing in 138 games across four games.
