Penn State Football’s Nick Singleton & Nick Dawkins Added To Watch Lists

Penn State football running back Nick Singleton and offensive lineman Nick Dawkins were added to separate watch lists on Thursday. Singleton made the Paul Hornung Award watch list, while Dawkins was named to the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy watch list.

The Paul Hornung Award is given to the most versatile player in major college football. Singleton, who was already named to the Maxwell Award Watch List, serves as a kick returner in addition to his duties as a running back. Singleton has already cemented himself as one of Penn State’s better running backs in program history with 1,813 career rushing yards and 20 career rushing touchdowns, ranking 20th all-time in both categories.

The Allstate Wuerffel Trophy is given annually and is considered college football’s premier award for community service. It honors student-athletes who are inspired to serve others and make positive impacts on society. Dawkins, a redshirt senior, is expected to start at center this year for Penn State and has made 26 appearances for the Nittany Lions already. He was Penn State’s Public Service Award winner in 2023 and won the team’s Letterman’s Club Scholarship, which is awarded to an outstanding graduate.

Several other Nittany Lions have already earned spots on watch lists thus far, including Drew Allar (Maxwell Award), Tyler Duzansky (Patrick Mannelly Award), Abdul Carter (Bronko Nagurski Trophy), and Sal Wormley (Outland Trophy).
