Martha King Named 2024 Homecoming Grand Marshal

Penn State Mont Alto alumnus and renowned Lumberjill athlete Martha King will serve as Penn State Homecoming’s Grand Marshal, Homecoming announced Monday.

A native of Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, King began her journey on the Penn State Woodsmen team back in 2007 as she earned her bachelor’s degree in animal science with minors in wildlife and fisheries and forest science.

Earlier in August, King and her partner, Kelly, won their first title together at the Lumberjack World Championships.

Homecoming week will take place from Sunday, September 22, through Saturday, September 28, when Penn State football takes on Illinois in Beaver Stadium. This year’s theme will be “In Every Roar, Tradition Soars.” The logo for Homecoming was unveiled at the 2024 Blue-White Game.

King will succeed Lady Lions alumni Tanisha Wright as Grand Marshal.
