Penn State Women’s Soccer Drops To No. 12 In United Soccer Coaches Poll

Penn State women’s soccer dropped to No. 12 in this week’s United Soccer Coaches Poll. The Nittany Lions dropped nine spots after being ranked No. 3 in last week’s rankings.

This drop in the rankings came after Penn State suffered its first defeat of the season against then-No. 21 Virginia on Thursday. The Nittany Lions lost 2-1 against the Cavaliers, who have risen to No. 7 in the latest rankings. However, Penn State responded by beating West Chester 5-0.

The Nittany Lions will return to action at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 29, to take on West Virginia at Jeffrey Field. This game will be the last home game of their five-game homestand before they hit the road for the first time this season on Sunday, September 1, to take on Saint Louis.
