Report: Allen Robinson Released By New York Giants

Former Penn State football wide receiver Allen Robinson has been released by the New York Giants, according to Tom Pellisaro of NFL Network.

Robinson played for Penn State from 2011-13, recording 177 receptions for 2,474 yards and 17 touchdowns. He was a two-time Big Ten Receiver of the Year and twice earned first-team All-Big Ten honors. Robinson also became the third Penn State wide receiver in history to earn first-team All-American honors in his junior year.

After college, Robinson was selected in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars. He played in Jacksonville for four seasons, making the Pro Bowl in 2015, before joining the Chicago Bears in 2018.

Robinson spent four seasons with the Bears and became the fifth Bears player in history to record back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons in 2019 and 2020 before joining the Los Angeles Rams in 2022.

Robinson spent one season with the Rams before being traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers ahead of the 2023 season. During his time with the Steelers, Robinson made 17 appearances with 34 receptions for 280 receiving yards.

Robinson was the second Penn Stater released by the Giants this week. Jonathan Sutherland was waived Sunday.
