Kaitlyn MacBean Named TopDrawerSoccer National Player Of The Week

Penn State women’s soccer forward Kaitlyn MacBean was named the National Player of the Week by TopDrawerSoccer, the outlet announced Tuesday. MacBean scored all five of the Nittany Lion’s goals this week.

MacBean started the 2024 season on fire, scoring eight goals in five games for Penn State. The senior started the week off strong against West Virginia, scoring all three of Penn State’s goals in a 3-1 victory on Thursday. She then doubled down in a top-25 matchup against Saint Louis on Sunday, scoring both of the team’s goals en route to another win.

This was the second time a Nittany Lion has been named National Player of the Week by TopDrawerSoccer this year after Jordan Fusco received the recognition in week one.

MacBean, Fusco, and the rest of the Nittany Lions will try to continue their dominance on Thursday, September 5, against Princeton. The game will take place at 7 p.m. in Princeton, New Jersey.
