K.J. Winston Named Chuck Bednarik Player Of The Week

Another award for Penn State football safety K.J. Winston.

Winston was named the Chuck Bednarik Player of the Week one day after being named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week.

The 6’2″, 205-pound junior from Columbia, Maryland, had a career-high 12 total tackles, the most of any Penn Stater, along with a forced fumble in Penn State’s 34-12 win over West Virginia on Saturday. After one week’s worth of games, Winston ranks No. 16 in the nation in tackles and No. 22 in solo tackles with seven.

Penn State’s secondary, led by Winston and fellow safety Jaylen Reed, allowed 161 passing yards the whole game against the Mountaineers.
