Report: Pat Freiermuth Extends Contract With Pittsburgh Steelers

Former Penn State tight end Pat Freiermuth has signed a contract extension with the Pittsburgh Steelers, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. The deal is worth $48.4 million over four years.

Freiermuth has been with the Steelers since 2021 and has hauled in 155 receptions for 1,537 yards and 11 touchdowns over the three-year span.

Before he was drafted by Pittsburgh in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft, Freiermuth was a two-time captain for the Nittany Lions. In his three-year collegiate career, he had 92 catches for 1,185 yards and 16 touchdowns, the most by a tight end in Penn State history.

This extension comes with a big pay raise for Freiermuth, as he was on his rookie contract, worth just over $1.5 million per year, prior to signing the new deal.
