Your Official Penn State-Bowling Green Drinking Game

Well, the time has finally come, folks.

Gamedays, tailgating, cocktagons, and of course, drinking games are officially back.

To kick off our first home game of the season, the Nittany Lions will face the lesser-known Ohio school, Bowling Green. At least there’s hope for at least one Ohio win this season, right?

With the Nittany Lions finally back in Beaver Stadium this Saturday, comes a day full of tailgating, drinking, showing off gameday fits, and cheering on the boys in blue and white. Whether you’re watching the game in the stadium, on a TV screen in your Penn State fan cave, or you’re just tailgating outside the stadium, drink along with our official drinking game.

Without further ado, let’s get into it drinking.

  • To kick things off, start off your day by swinging down a shot. This is only the beginning.
  • If you wake up before 7 a.m., start the day off by throwing back a shot.
    • If you wake up just before noon and still make it into the game, congratulations, you also deserve a shot.
  • If you slept through tailgating, catch up by taking a shot.
  • Have a sip if you’re tailgating with your family this weekend.
  • Chug your drink for five seconds if this is your first-ever Penn State football game.
  • Chug for 10 seconds (and grab a tissue) if this is your last first home game ever.
  • If you never heard of Bowling Green before the 2024 schedule was announced, have a sip.
  • Have another sip if you don’t know what Bowling Green’s mascot is. It’s okay, we don’t either.
  • For every “Worst State” shirt you see with the state of Ohio outlined, take a sip.
  • Take a sip for every pair of lion ears you see throughout the day.
  • If you tailgate all day (before and after the game), give yourself a pat on the back then swing back a shot.
  • Have a sip if you’re tailgating with your family this weekend.
  • If you end up tailgate-hopping before the game starts, treat yourself by having a sip.
  • Have a sip for every hot dog you devour before the noon kickoff.
  • Once you’re in the stadium, grab a chicken basket and have a sip or two. We are so back.
  • When James Franklin walks onto the field, locking arms with the starters, chug your drink for five seconds. M.I.L.J.F. (Man, I Love James Franklin).
  • When the mic man yells the iconic, “Are you ready for Penn State football?” take a shot because why not?
  • If the stadium renovations live up to the hype, take a shot.
  • Take a sip if Penn State wins the coin toss.
  • Take a shot and a deep breath if Bowling Green Scores first.
  • Finish your drink if Penn State scores first. LET’S GO, NITTANY LIONS!
  • Treat yourself to a long sip for every touchdown by Drew Allar or Beau Pribula.
  • Take a shot every time Penn State goes three-and-out.
  • Take a sip every time Mo Bamba plays. Whoever is on aux deserves a raise.
  • Every time the Nittany Lion comes onto the field in a new costume, take a sip.
  • To start the second half, finish your drink and crack open a new brew.
  • Every time a Sabrina Carpenter or Chappel Roan song plays, take a swig. “Please, Please, Please,” beat Bowling Green!
  • Chug your drink if the stadium is filled with over 107,000 people.
  • Have a swig every time the Nittany Lion does a push-up.
  • Take a nice, long sip if Penn State comes out of this weekend undefeated. 2-0, baby!

Stay safe and drink responsibly this weekend, folks!
