[Photo Story] Penn State vs. Bowling Green
We made it back to Beaver Stadium, folks!
Penn State football hosted Bowling Green for its first home game of the 2024 season and shakily brought its record to 2-0. Despite some ups and downs throughout the game, Penn State came out with a 34-27 victory over the Falcons.
Penn Staters came from all over to watch the Nittany Lions play their first home game of the season and our visual staff was there to cover it. Let’s take a look at some shots from the game.
The team arrived at Beaver Stadium in style, rocking shades and hats as the Blue Band led the way.
The Nittany Lions took the field before the game for warmups and some stretching.
After one last pregame pep talk in the locker room, Penn State took the field after our beloved Nittany Lion opened the famed stadium gates.
Penn State hosted its annual THON game and the Lion Ambassadors organized a THON ribbon section by handing out yellow t-shirts to a select few in the student section.
Quarterback Drew Allar was the first to put Penn State on the board after scoring a five-yard rushing touchdown.
A home game wouldn’t be complete without the Lionettes or the “We Are” chant.
After a touchdown from Bowling Green, Allar connected with wide receiver Omari Evans for a big score.
The half ended with Penn State down 24-20, but the student section kept morale high.
After halftime, Allar fed Nick Singleton a touchdown pass that gave the Nittany Lions the lead at 27-24.
The defense picked up steam in the second half as Tony Rojas led the way with an interception at Bowling Green’s 38-yard line.
Nick Singleton scored the final touchdown of the day after doing what he does best — running the ball.
After securing a hard-fought win, Penn State shared some smiles and followed the tradition of singing the Alma Mater with the student section.
