[Photo Story] Penn State vs. Rutgers

Penn State traveled to Rutgers on Saturday and ended the regular season with a 40-36 win over the Scarlet Knights.

As usual, our photographers were on site to capture all the action.

The Nittany Lions arrived at SHI Stadium around 1:30 p.m., ready to rumble.

Penn State took the field to warm up in the chilly New Jersey weather.

After the pads came on, it was all gas, no brakes for the Nittany Lions.

Tight end Andrew Rappleyea put the Nittany Lions on the board with a 53-yard touchdown in the first quarter.

With the second touchdown of the game for Penn State, Nick Singleton surpassed Saquon Barkley as Penn State’s all-time rushing touchdown leader and total touchdown leader.

Penn State fans were sporting “Hire Terry Smith” gear for the game.

Penn State led 24-21 at the half.

Singleton secured his second touchdown of the game in the second half, punching it in from Rutgers’ 1-yard line.

Linebacker Amare Campbell picked up a Rutgers fumble and returned it 61 yards for a Nittany Lions touchdown.

On fourth-and-2, Rappleyea secured the win with a first down for the Nittany Lions.

Penn State ended its last regular-season game with a win.

With Penn State’s win over the Scarlet Knights, the team is now bowl-eligible for the 2025 season.
