Transfer Portal Roundup: Week Three

With no Penn State football action this weekend, it gave fans more time to catch up on college football without throwing the remote at the wall.

However, while Penn State wasn’t playing, there were many former Penn State players around the country playing for their new universities after departing Happy Valley.

Christian Veilleux, Georgia State

Quarterback Christian Veilleux tallied back-to-back impressive performances as he led Georgia State to a 36-32 victory over Vanderbilt. Veilleux’s performance included a late-game 25-yard passing touchdown to cap off the Panthers’ game-winning drive. The Panthers’ quarterback finished the game with 269 passing yards and three passing touchdowns along with an 18-yard touchdown on the ground.

KeAndre Lambert-Smith, Auburn

KeAndre Lambert-Smith, Penn State’s leading pass catcher from last season, had an explosive game in Auburn’s 45-19 victory over New Mexico. Lambert-Smith hauled in two receptions for 72 yards, including a 50-yard catch in the first quarter.

Alex Bacchetta, Rice

Punter Alex Bacchetta recorded a solid game in Rice’s 33-7 loss to Houston. Bacchetta punted 10 times for an astounding 422 punting yards. He also put three balls inside the 20 with one touchback.

Devyn Ford, Notre Dame

Running back Devyn Ford got some action in Notre Dame’s 66-7 rout of Purdue. Ford ran the ball twice for nine rushing yards in his third appearance for the Fighting Irish.
