Sean Clifford Elevated To Green Bay Packers 53-Man Roster

Former Penn State football quarterback Sean Clifford has been elevated to the Green Bay Packers’ 53-man roster from the practice squad. The move comes after Packers starter Jordan Love went down with an ankle injury.

Clifford played for Penn State for six years, becoming the program leader in wins as a starting quarterback (32), completion percentage (.614), completions (833), passing yards (10,661), total yards (11,734), passing touchdowns (86) and pass attempts (1,356). After graduating in 2022, Clifford was selected 149th overall in the 2023 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers.

With the Packers, Clifford has appeared in two games, throwing one pass for 37 yards. After serving as Love’s backup in the 2023 season, he was moved to the practice squad after Green Bay signed Malik Willis from the Tennessee Titans.
