Penn State Football Bumps To No. 9 In AP Poll

Penn State football was ranked No. 9 in the latest AP Poll, the Associated Press released Sunday. Penn State’s rank bumped up one spot after its 56-0 record-breaking win over Kent State on Saturday.

The Nittany Lions bumped after now-No. 11 Mizzou fell four spots after barely defeating unranked Vanderbilt. All the top 10 teams remain undefeated through the season’s first four weeks. However, there were some shake-ups outside of the top 10.

No. 11 USC, No. 13 Kansas State, and No. 15 Oklahoma all lost Saturday. Former No. 24 Illinois moved up five spots after it defeated former No. 22 ranked Nebraska in overtime Friday night.

Penn State will host No. 19 Illinois in Beaver Stadium for its first home night game of the season at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 28. The game will be aired on NBC and can be streamed on Peacock.
