Penn State Women’s Soccer Falls To No. 15 In United Coaches Soccer Rankings

Penn State women’s soccer dropped to No. 15 in this week’s United Soccer Coaches Poll after being ranked No. 9 in last week’s poll.

This descent in rankings came after a tough 1-0 loss to now-No. 1 Michigan State at Jeffrey Field on Sunday, leaving the Nittany Lions to falling to 8-2-1 on the season. The sole goal of the match was scored at the 2:12 mark by Justina Gaynor, who was assisted by Gabby Mueller.

Despite the Michigan State loss, the Nittany Lions did take down Northwestern earlier in the week.

Penn State will go on the road for its next matchup, playing No. 18-ranked Iowa at 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 26, on the road to get back into the win column.
