Report: Amani Oruwariye Elevated From Dallas Cowboys Practice Squad

Former Penn State football cornerback Amani Oruwariye has been elevated from the Dallas Cowboys practice squad ahead of their Thursday Night Football showdown against the New York Giants, according to The Athletic’s Jon Machota.

Oruwariye played four seasons at Penn State, recording 103 total tackles, two of which were for a loss, eight interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown, and forced one fumble.

Oruwariye was drafted in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions, where he spent three seasons. He recorded 173 total tackles, nine interceptions, and two fumble recoveries while in Detroit.

Oruwariye moved from the Lions to the Giants before signing with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He didn’t record statistics with either team and was cut by the Jaguars in August.
