Abdul Carter Named Big Ten Defensive Player Of The Week

Penn State defensive end Abdul Carter was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon after his performance against Illinois.

Carter recorded seven tackles, including four tackles for loss, two sacks, and a forced fumble that secured the 21-7 win for the Nittany Lions over the Fighting Illini. So far this season, Carter has racked up 19 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, and two passes defended as he continues to adapt to playing defensive end.

Carter was also recognized on a national stage Monday afternoon, as the Reese’s Senior Bowl named him its Co-Defensive Player of the Week.
