Penn State Field Hockey Moves Up To No. 17 In NFHCA Poll

Penn State field hockey moved up to No. 17 in this week’s NFCHA Division I National Coaches Poll. The Nittany Lions bumped up two spots after being ranked No. 19 in last week’s rankings.

The move in the rankings came after Penn State defeated Indiana 3-2 on Thursday in its Big Ten opener and blew out Lafayette 5-1 on Sunday. Forward Sophia Gladieux was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week for her efforts, including two goals and an assist against Lafayette.

The Nittany Lions will begin their four-game road trip on Friday, October 4, when they take on Iowa at 6 p.m. After that, they will continue their road trip when they take on Northwestern at 1 p.m. on Sunday, October 6.
