Sophia Gladieux Named Big Ten Field Hockey Offensive Player Of The Week

Penn State field hockey forward Sophia Gladieux was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

Gladieux scored two goals and made an assist in Penn State’s 5-1 win over Lafayette on Sunday. The senior has maintained intensity throughout the season and notched a total of 15 points and four assists this season thus far.

Gladieux has a career total of 89 goals and 14 assists and has scored in all nine of Penn State’s games this year. She also holds the No. 1 spot in the Big Ten for overall points (34), goals (15), shots (49) and shots on goal (32).

Gladieux and the Nittany Lions are 6-3 on the year, and 1-0 in the Big Ten. The Nittany Lions are at Iowa at 6 p.m. on Friday, October 4, and at Northwestern at 1 p.m. on Sunday, October 6.
