Penn State Football 4.5-Point Favorite Against USC

After taking down its first West Coast opponent of the season in UCLA, Penn State football will travel away from Beaver Stadium for the first time since week one to take on USC.

The No. 4-ranked Nittany Lions are set as a 4.5-point favorite against the Trojans, according to DraftKings. The game has an over/under set at 48 points and a money line at -218 in favor of the blue and white, making USC a +164 underdog.

Penn State wasn’t completely spared amid a college football weekend chock full of upsets, as the Nittany Lions failed miserably to cover the 28-point spread against UCLA and fell short of hitting the over for the second game in a row. The otherwise bland offensive showcase made the Nittany Lions 2-3 against the spread and toward the over/under this year.

On the other side of the country, the Trojans are 3-2 against the spread and 2-0 at home, while they have a familiar 2-3 record against the over/under, according to OddsShark.

The last time the two teams matched up was in 2017 in the Rose Bowl when a Penn State team led by Trace McSorley and Saquon Barkley fell 52-49.
