OS Cribs: Oliv Highland

One of State College’s newest apartment buildings, Oliv Highland is located off of South Pugh Street and is the second of two new luxury apartment buildings in downtown State College. Oliv Highland is close to everything you could imagine: Old Main, the HUB, and Starbucks (for those addicted to coffee). This apartment has all the amenities you could imagine, just like its other location on Hetzel Street.

According to the State College Borough, the building began construction in September 2021 and includes over 150 units, and the apartment finished construction this summer. The six-floor apartment offers amenities such as a courtyard, study rooms, gym, sauna, rooftop pool, and hot tub. While many people have talked about the Oliv Hetzel location, Oliv Highland has flown under many people’s radar.

Luckily, the employees of Oliv Highland were gracious enough to give us a tour of the brand-new apartment building, just in time for new leases to be signed for the upcoming year.

As you walk in, you are greeted by a staffer and a beautiful bar.

As you walk past the bar, you approach a well-decorated study room with booths and tables to grind out a last-minute assignment.

Just outside the study area, you’ll find the courtyard. It’s a perfect opportunity to go sit by the fire or relax in a hammock after you’ve done your work.

The main floor also includes a gym that includes squat racks, cable machines, smith machines, treadmills, stairmasters, and free weights. It also has separate rooms for yoga and a sauna.

There are 40 different floor plans the building has to offer that include anything from one to five bedrooms, depending on what you’re looking for. Each apartment is modern with updated appliances, furniture, and floor-to-ceiling windows.

The room we got a tour of included four bedrooms. Each room offered a full-size bed, closet, and desk. Each room has large windows with enough light to naturally light up your room.

There were three bathrooms in the floor plan we toured. Each one included a full mirror, toilet, sink, and shower that is modern and quite honestly looks pretty fancy.

The rooftop offers breathtaking views of the mountains surrounding downtown State College and campus. The roof includes a large swimming pool with lounge seating and a hot tub to take in all the views.

On the other side of the rooftop, there are some tables and plants placed near the grills and two TVs. It creates the perfect area to cook on the grill while watching an away Penn State football game.

On the other side of the wall, there is a common area room that offers plenty of seating with windows that open to the rooftop area along with a countertop and barstools that allow you to interact with the rooftop.

In between all the amenities, rooftop views, and luxurious rooms, the Oliv Highland might just be the nicest apartment complex in downtown State College.
