Report: Adrian Amos To Sign With San Francisco 49ers

Former Penn State football safety Adrian Amos is expected to sign with the San Fransisco 49ers, per FOX NFL insider Jordan Schultz.

The 49ers are shorthanded at the safety position due to multiple injuries. Talanoa Hufunga tore multiple ligaments in his wrist and was placed on injured reserve after the week five contest against the Arizona Cardinals. Safety Malik Mustapha left week six’s matchup against the Seattle Seahawks early after sustaining an ankle injury.

Amos was originally drafted by the Chicago Bears in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He played for the Bears for four seasons before signing a four-year, $36 million deal with the Green Bay Packers where he played out his contract and became a free agent after the 2022 NFL season.

In 2023, the Nittany Lion started the season with the New York Jets and was released in December. As a Jet, Amos appeared in 11 games, recording 19 solo tackles, four assisted tackles, and one pass defended. The Houston Texans signed the veteran in December shortly after his release from New York. As a member of the Houston Texans, Amos recorded four solo tackles and one assisted tackle. Amos last played safety for the Jacksonville Jaguars but was released in August.

Amos will join a 49ers team that sits atop the NFC West. The 10-year NFL veteran has proven he can play at the highest level and will get another shot in San Fransisco.
