Brainstorming Even More Penn State-Inspired Halloween Costumes

It’s that time of year when figuring out your Halloween costume becomes the most stressful thing on your to-do list.

In 2021, we kicked off the quest for the ultimate Penn State-inspired Halloween costumes to help you sidestep those awkward “What are you supposed to be?” moments. In 2023, we added even more ideas to ease the pressure of finding something decent. This year? We’re back with a lineup of suggestions to ensure you’re the one everyone remembers (for better or worse).

Here’s a batch of Happy Valley Halloween costumes that will make you the life of the party — and maybe even get you a free drink or two.

Student-Athlete & NARP Duo

You know the classic student-athlete look. Keep it solo, or make it as a duo with someone dressed as a non-athletic regular person, or a NARP. Pull up to the frat or bar on an electric scooter and your look is complete.

Blue Sapphire

The true star of Penn State football: the Blue Sapphire.

Master a few baton twirls and you’ll be the center of attention at any party. And who knows? You might end up on the field in Beaver Stadium someday.

Frat Pledge

Just throw on any Penn State polo, some beat-up Air Force Ones, and a pledge pack. Add a Lucky Streak in hand, and you’ve got the perfect average frat pledge look. Don’t forget to master your frat flick.

The Blue-Haired Guy

If you’ve ever been to a Penn State hockey game, then you know the legend of the Blue-Haired Guy. Just toss on a hockey jersey, grab a blue wig, and boom, your look is ready to hit the party (or the rink). Figure out how to complete the Hulk Hogan pose and rip a T-shirt, and you’re sure to be the life of the party.

Cops On Horses

Cops on horses are a staple of football tailgating. We all know them, and we kind of love them. Plus, if someone gets rowdy, you have the ready-made excuse to kick them.

Atherton Street Construction Worker

A Penn State classic: Atherton Street construction.

Channel your inner construction worker by dressing the part. Bonus points if you do nothing but stand around on your phone. You’ll nail the look perfectly.

CATA Bus

Ah, the beloved CATA bus. Toss on some glow sticks in red, white, and blue, and you’ve got the iconic “Rink,” “Whoop,” and “Bloop.” This is also perfect for anyone on the lookout for freshmen to pick up.

Student From Delco

Raid your closet for any and all Philly sports merch and you will look like every Penn State student from Delco. You can’t forget to add the accent, just to get into true character. Go Birds.

Tour Guide

The most annoying job for everyone involved is the Penn State Tour Guide. You can’t forget to walk backward everywhere you go while a group of friends follow you around. Just be prepared for people to yell “We Are!” as you walk down the street.
