Penn State 110th Annual Horticulture Show Set For October 19 & 20

The Penn State Horticulture Club is set to put on the 110th annual Horticulture Show during Parents and Families Weekend at Penn State. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, and Sunday, October 20, at the Snider Agricultural Arena.

The Horticulture Show, manager Owen Fairchild told Onward State, is “almost like a home and garden show, where we transform the university’s Snider Agricultural Arena into an indoor landscape with donated plant material from across the mid-Atlantic region.”

The Horticulture Club spends more than a week putting together its event in the arena based on a student-made design. Items at the event, which include trees, shrubs, annuals, perennials, apples, pumpkins, and cider, will be sold at a discount to raise money for the Horticulture Club.

All money raised from the Horticulture Show will fund the club’s trip to the National Collegiate Landscape Competition, the largest green industry event for students in the nation, hosted by Colorado State.
