Penn State Women’s Volleyball Stays At No. 3 In AVCA Poll

Penn State women’s volleyball held on to its No. 3 ranking in the latest AVCA Poll released Monday afternoon.

This was the fourth week in a row and the sixth time this season that the Nittany Lions were ranked in the No. 3 spot. The team received one first-place vote, while No. 1 Pitt received 50 and No. 2 Nebraska received 10.

The Nittany Lions went 2-0 in Big Ten play once again with a win over Ohio State in five sets on Friday and a sweep of then-No. 14 Minnesota in its “Dig Pink” game on Sunday afternoon. This improved their record to 18-1 and with an 8-0 conference record.

Outside of Penn State and Nebraska, the Big Ten was also represented by No. 8 Wisconsin, No. 10 Purdue, No. 11 Oregon, No. 15 Minnesota, and No. 16 USC.

The Nittany Lions will head to Los Angeles this week to take on UCLA at 9 p.m. on Thursday, October 24, and No. 16 USC at 11 p.m. on Saturday, October 26.
