‘Team Trump Bus Tour’ Rallies Students & Locals At Medlar Field At Lubrano Park
A group of about 75 people and several dogs attended a “Team Trump Bus Tour” rally outside of Medlar Field at Lubrano Park on Tuesday afternoon. The rally featured four speakers campaigning for former President Donald Trump.
The speakers for the rally included former Lieutenant Governor of California Abel Maldonado, former Chief of Staff of the Department of Defense Kash Patel, former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Public Affairs Monica Crowley, and Mayor of Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania, JD Longo, who was a late addition to the group.
The four speakers, who took their own bus to the rally, were preceded by another bus, a limousine, and a merchandise tent outside of Penn State’s baseball stadium. The attendees were made up of mostly non-Penn State students, though several students attended.
Originally scheduled to appear at the Acacia fraternity, the rally adjusted its location to Penn State’s campus Monday evening.
The limousine arrived a few minutes before the speakers’ tour bus, bearing phrases like “Make America Great Again,” “Law & Order,” “Make Liberals Cry Again,” and more.
The tour bus arrived at 3:50 p.m., and volunteers handed out red “Make America Great Again” hats just after.
Longo led off the speakers by commending the students in attendance for coming to the event. He said young people would most be affected by the outcome of the 2024 presidential election based on each candidate’s economic policies. Longo focused on the benefits of a Trump economy and how he felt it would benefit young people graduating college.
Maldonado spoke to the group next. A California resident, he railed against Vice President Kamala Harris’ time as the district attorney of San Francisco and the attorney general of California, saying, “They want to bring that to Pennsylvania.” He highlighted Harris’ prosecution record, especially with illegal immigration.
Patel spoke after Maldonado, leading his speech by teasing an appearance from Donald Trump at Penn State football’s game against Ohio State. He spoke about the importance of the student vote in the 2024 election before focusing on illegal immigration, crime rates, and election fraud.
Crowley spoke last, leading off with what she saw as the importance of voting in California and New York so as to swing the popular vote for Trump. Crowley spent much of her time focusing on her support of Trump from the start of his 2015 presidential campaign, and how she saw Trump as a blue-collar man of the people.
Crowley stopped speaking around 4:40 p.m., and the speakers and crowd in attendance posed for pictures afterward before the speakers’ bus departed. The bus is scheduled for its next stop at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 23, in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania.
