Tyler Warren Named To Biletnikoff Watch List

Penn State football tight end Tyler Warren was named to the 2024 Biletnikoff Award watch list, an honor recognizing the most outstanding receiver in college football. While it’s typically given to a wide receiver, tight ends can contend for the award.

Warren has become a focal point in offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki’s scheme, showcasing his versatility by lining up at various positions across the offense. The do-it-all tight end leads Penn State in receiving, amassing 513 yards on 40 receptions. His ability to contribute in multiple offensive roles has made him a key piece for the Nittany Lions this season.

The last time Warren touched the field, he put on a show against USC. Warren totaled 224 receiving yards on 17 receptions in Penn State’s victory over USC in overtime. The tight end tied the FBS record for single-game receptions by a tight end with 17 and was named AP National Player Of The Week.

Warren was previously named to the watch list for the Mackey Award, given to the nation’s best tight end.

Warren joined the likes of Alabama’s Ryan Williams, Ohio State’s Emeka Egbuka, Ole Miss’ Tre Harris, Oregon’s Tez Johnson, Colorado’s Travis Hunter, and Missouri’s Luther Burden III on the watch list. The last time a tight end has been tied to the Fred Biletnikoff Award was in 2020 when Flordia tight end Kyle Pitts was named a finalist. Pitts amassed 770 receiving yards on 43 receptions.

Warren takes to the stage again at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, when the Nittany Lions take on Wisconsin at Camp Randall Stadium.
