Penn State Football Tight End Tyler Warren Named To Mackey Award Watch List

Penn State football tight end Tyler Warren has been named to the watch list for the Mackey Award, which is presented annually to the best tight end in college football.

Warren, a fourth-year tight end with the Nittany Lions, will enter his first season as the Nittany Lions’ exclusive top option at the position. In years past, Warren worked alongside Theo Johnson and Brenton Strange, both of whom have gone to the NFL.

Thus far at Penn State, Warren has made 40 appearances with 15 starts. He recorded 49 receptions for 606 yards and 11 touchdowns, plus two rushing touchdowns. His seven touchdown receptions from the 2023 season led all tight ends in the Big Ten and was third-most in the country.

The award’s selection committee will reveal eight semifinalists on Tuesday, October 29, and three finalists on Tuesday, November 26. The winner will be announced live on ESPN on Thursday, December 12.
