10 Questions With The First Guys In Line At College GameDay

These guys really love College GameDay.

Three Penn State freshmen — Robert Rath, Aidan Chippo, and Rylan Schneider — got an early jump on celebrating Penn State football gameday by getting in line for College GameDay more than 20 hours before the show started.

We chatted with these Penn Staters to find out more.

OS: What makes you so excited for College GameDay?

Robert Rath: I think the thing that’s most exciting is it only comes around a few years out of our time here. So it’s really a big opportunity to be able to be at the front and meet all the celebrities, especially Pat McAfee.

OS: Who’s your favorite College GameDay host?

Rylan Schneider: Pat McAfee, obviously. He’s just got a great personality. He’s one for the crowd when he rips the shirt off.

OS: Did you plan on being first in line, or did this just happen?

RS: I tried to get here as early as I could so I could be towards the front. I didn’t know if there was going to be anyone here yet, but I knew there was a pretty good chance that I was going to be within the first 15.

OS: Did you skip classes to be here?

RR: Yeah. I was supposed to have three classes today, and I’ve skipped all of them.

OS: Emotionally, how are you feeling about tomorrow’s game?

RS: I think we’re just all pretty excited. This is an opportunity for Penn State to prove we’re one of the best teams in the nation. We’re just pretty hyped.

OS: What’s your score prediction?

Aidan Chippo: I think it’s going to be 27-21 Ohio State.

RR (grabbing the phone): Disregard what Aidan said. I think it’s Penn State by a million.

OS: Between Drew Allar and Beau Pribula, who would you rather see start and why?

RS: I think we should start Beau because Beau gives us a better chance to get positive plays. He’s more athletic. I think he just suits us for a better offensive scheme against Ohio State’s defense.

OS: Who’s your favorite Penn State player?

RR: I definitely have to go with Tyler Warren. He’s a very underrated pick. I think he should be in the Heisman finalists but, as of now, I don’t think he is. I think he really runs our team, especially with his versatility to play so many different positions.

OS: Per Onward State tradition, If you could be any dinosaur, which would it be and why?

AC: I’d pick a velociraptor because [it’s] just a speedy overall good dinosaur. Not too big, not too small.
