Penn State Greek Life Organizations Perform For Annual ‘Greek Sing’

Greek Sing came to life in the Schwab Auditorium on Thursday night. Penn State fraternities and sororities paired up to compete in a dance competition to raise money for their philanthropies. The competition winners, Alpha Xi Delta and Phi Kappa Theta, will also perform in Greek Hour during THON 2025.

To start off the night, Delta Phi Epsilon and Phi Sigma Kappa took the stage to perform a mix of hits from the 90s, including “Bye Bye Bye” and “Oops!… I Did It Again.” Throughout the performance, members of the team did a variety of lifts that brought the crowd to life.

Up next, Kappa Kappa Gamma and Delta Upsilon danced into the 2000s. They performed songs such as “Promiscuous” and “Unwritten” to motivate the crowd for the rest of the night. The team wowed the auditorium with flips.

Zeta Tau Alpha, Omega Phi Alpha, and Sigma Pi brought a fan-favorite musical to the stage when they took the audience to Greece with ABBA. Classics like “Dancing Queen” and “Voulez-Vous” were performed as the team finished with an impressive kick line.

Up next, Sigma Kappa and Alpha Sigma Phi put the audience to work with a boot camp theme. “Salute” and “Formation” had the crowd begging for more, and a classic TikTok dance by the men of Alpha Sigma Phi was an audience favorite.

Alpha Xi Delta and Phi Kappa Theta harmonized with the crowd to the soundtrack of Pitch Perfect. They even brought out flashlights for the last part of the dance, earning a standing ovation from the crowd.

After that, Delta Zeta and Phi Gamma Delta riled the crowd up with different mixes of famous country songs. “Country Girl (Shake It For Me)” and “Cowgirls” had everyone in the room clapping along.

Kappa Delta and Alpha Phi Delta took to the stage to perform various Michael Jackson songs, with “Smooth Criminal” and “Blame It On The Boogie” bringing smiles to everyone’s faces. They concluded the routine with THON posters.

Alpha Omicron Pi and Sigma Alpha Epsilon danced to the Disney classic, “High School Musical.” They started the routine with “Fabulous” and concluded it with “All In This Together.” They even brought their head to the game with basketballs.

Joining the stage, Alpha Phi and Phi Kappa Psi brought the crowd to the country club with a performance of “Murder on the Dance Floor.” Their choreography was original and the crowd went wild.

Alpha Sigma Alpha, Phi Sigma Rho, and Delta Sigma Phi performed different mixes from the reality show “Dance Moms.” Their very own Abby Lee Miller captured the crowd.

Delta Gamma and Alpha Chi Rho were up next to dance to songs from the Oscar-winning movie “La La Land.” They used chairs to represent cars and serenaded the crowd.

Then, Sigma Delta Tau and Pi Kappa Phi brought Mr. Worldwide to Penn State with a Pitbull-themed dance. Classics like “Timber” and “Give Me Everything” impressed the audience.

Kappa Alpha Theta and Alpha Gamma Rho battled it out on stage with heroes and villains. “Black Widow” and “All The Stars” had the crowd rooting for the heroes. The Joker even made an appearance.

Alpha Delta Pi and Theta Chi brought the crowd to Coachella for the second to last performance. “Crazy in Love” and “Golddigger” had the audience singing along. Their lifts added to the “concert” experience.

Lastly, Phi Sigma Sigma and Phi Delta Theta performed a mix of Tate McRae songs. “Exes” and “Greedy” had the crowd dancing along. Some might even say they T8.

After the competition, the judges crowned Alpha Xi Delta and Phi Kappa Thea winners. Second place went to Kappa Alpha Theta and Alpha Gamma Rho, with Alpha Phi and Phi Kappa Psi finishing in third.

Alpha Xi Delta and Phi Kappa Thea won a performance at THON 2024 and $1000 towards their philanthropy of choice.
