Penn State Men’s Lacrosse Adds 11 Recruits On National Signing Day

Penn State men’s lacrosse added a flurry of recruits on National Signing Day on Wednesday.

Eleven new Nittany Lions signed the dotted line to join head coach Jeff Tambroni’s team next season. According to Inside Lacrosse, Tambroni signed nine four-star recruits and two three-star recruits.

Goalie Preston Hawkins joined Happy Valley from Worthington Kilbourne High School in Powell, Ohio. The four-star right-handed netminder was given an 88 overall by Inside Lacrosse, which noted Hawkins for his quick reflexes. He’s also aggressive in and out of the cage, often coming out to make lots of plays and scoop up ground balls for his defense.

“He does everything well – on top of saving the ball, he’s loud and demands defensive urgency,” Inside Lacrosse wrote about Hawkins.

Luke Danna joined as a left-handed midfielder from Orchard Park High School in New York. The four-star recruit was also rated an 88 overall by Inside Lacrosse, which noted Danna for his speed. He can burst past his defenders and get a snappy release that can also turn into strong, leading passes.

“His speed and quick step translate in a way that lets him attack his matchup from anywhere and demand the most dangerous space. From the wing and high corner, he’s particularly dangerous for his ability to get under with angle or take topside and score,” Inside Lacrosse wrote about Danna.

Beckett Vance entered as another midfielder, an Inside Lacrosse four-star recruit from Charlotte Christian School in North Carolina. The 5’10”, 180-pound midfielder can score with both hands, splitting apart defenses with ease and able to create looks anytime he needs.

Aharon Bloshuk rounded out the midfield, joining as a long-stick midfielder. The three-star recruit joined from the Academy of the New Church Boys School in Pennsylvania.

Jack Iannantuono is an Inside Lacrosse four-star right-handed attacker from Maryland, attending St. Paul’s School. Matthew Beachley is another four-star right-handed attacker from DeMatha Catholic High School in Maryland and is rated an 86 overall by Inside Lacrosse. He was noted for his hard work, urgency, and orchestrating his team’s offense.

Penn State’s new class boasts four defenders, all four-star recruits. Mark McNamara, Paul Bruder, Luke Marra, and Billy Henderson all signed on Wednesday.

McNamara comes from Darien High School in Connecticut, rated a 90 overall by Inside Lacrosse. Standing at 6’6″, he’s a monster on defense, but his size doesn’t take away from his stick skills.

Bruder is a Pennsylvania native of The Episcopal Academy. The lefty was rated 87 overall by Inside Lacrosse, which noted Bruder as a disruptive force on the field who rarely gets beaten.

Marra will join from Ridgewood High School in New Jersey, rated an 85 overall by Inside Lacrosse and noted for his consistent ground balls and ability to be everywhere needed on the field.

Henderson is an Inside Lacrosse four-star Pennsylvania native coming from Springfield High School, receiving a 92.1 rating for his play this last season.

Zachary Arbuckle rounded out the recruiting class as a face-off specialist. He joined as an Inside Lacrosse three-star recruit from Trinity-Pawling School in New York.

Tambroni emphasized his excitement for the new signings, ready to welcome them into the program and get to work.

“On behalf of the Penn State lacrosse staff, we would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the incoming Class of 2025 and their families for choosing Penn State. We are honored to introduce this year’s recruiting class, which includes 11 exceptional young men, and excited to officially welcome them into the Penn State lacrosse program,” Tambroni said in a statement.
