[Photo Story] Penn State Hoops vs. Virginia Tech

Penn State men’s basketball is 4-0, folks.

The Nittany Lions traveled south to Baltimore on Friday evening to face Virginia Tech. The neutral site match was part of the annual Hall of Fame Series, and this year’s event featured two matchups: Villanova vs. Virginia and Penn State vs. Virginia Tech.

After a high-powered offensive performance, Penn State beat the Hokies 84-62 thanks to impressive showings from Ace Baldwin and Zach Hicks, among others.

Onward State made the three-hour drive from State College to Baltimore to cover the game. Let’s take a look back at our favorite photos from the game.

The stage for this power-five, neutral-site game? Baltimore’s CFG Bank Arena.

After warming up, the Nittany Lions took to the court, ready for battle.

Penn State opened the half strong and took a 15-2 lead to start the game.

Penn State’s star guard Ace Baldwin Jr. grew up in Baltimore, and his high school is only a six-minute drive from the arena. In his homecoming game, he scored 19 points with 10 assists and three steals.

Forward Zach Hicks tied Baldwin with 19 points of his own.

All around, the Penn State offense showed out against Virginia Tech.

The Hokies kept it close in the first half, but in the second half, the Nittany Lions shut down Virginia Tech’s offense.

A few dunks and shots from outside the arc helped Penn State put the nail in the coffin.

It was all smiles for Penn State, claiming its fourth victory of the season.
