Tyler Warren Named Mackey Award Finalist

Penn State football tight end Tyler Warren was named a finalist for the Mackey Award, which is given each year to the nation’s best tight end, on Tuesday.

Warren was tabbed as one of three finalists, along with Michigan’s Colston Loveland and Bowling Green’s Harold Fannin Jr.

A 6’6″ senior, Warren is having the best year of his career, with 75 receptions, 910 yards, and five touchdowns through the air to go along with 157 yards and four touchdowns on the ground. Warren’s 16 career receiving touchdowns are tied with Pat Freiermuth for most by a tight end in Penn State history.

The tight end was also named a semifinalist for the Walter Camp Player of the Year Award earlier this month. The Mackey Award will announce its winner on Thursday, December 12.

Warren will take the field for one final regular season game at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 30, at Beaver Stadium against Maryland.
