[Photo Story] Penn State Women’s Soccer 2024 Season

After losing to North Carolina 2-1 in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament, Penn State’s women’s soccer season is over. Despite an agonizingly close finish, there was a lot from this season to be proud of.

From stellar goal celebrations to breathtaking slide tackles, there were plenty of moments that the Nittany Lions put on display. The Nittany Lions finished the season with an 8-2-1 record at home and our photographers were there to capture all of the action.

Let’s look back on some of our favorite photos from this season!

The Nittany Lions played with lots of passion and energy, leading to the team allowing fewer than one goal (0.86) per game on the season.

Penn State was led by senior forward Kaitlyn Macbean, who scored a team-high 15 goals in 22 games. This season was one to remember for the Minnesota native.

There were plenty of goals to go around as the Nittany Lions scored 47 on the year, giving the team many reasons to celebrate.

Additionally, senior midfielder Jordan Fusco was an absolute maestro with the ball at her foot, as she led the team with 11 assists in 22 games.

Penn State always played in style, rocking their classic blue and white kits throughout the season.

Of course, you can’t forget the Park Avenue Army, who consistently showed up for the team all the way through the last home game at Jeffrey Field against Stony Brook.

The team also showed out at home, including a comfortable 3-1 victory over West Virginia on Military Appreciation Night.

Overall, it was an eventful season for the 2024 Penn State women’s soccer team.
