Pi Delta Psi Suspended Through Spring 2028

Penn State’s Office of Student Accountability and Conflict Response placed the Pi Delta Psi fraternity on organizational suspension through spring 2028, the university announced Wednesday. The suspension became effective November 21.

The fraternity will go through an additional year of organizational conduct probation after a successful re-recognition.

Penn State said that after a thorough investigation, the office found the fraternity hazed new members, which included coerced high-risk alcohol consumption, during the spring 2024 semester. The local and national chapters have been informed of the university’s decision.

While suspended, the local chapter is prohibited from participating in, attending, or organizing functions, activities, or events, including university-sponsored events, and may not function as a sanctioned organization at Penn State.

Pi Delta Psi became one of 10 fraternities under suspension and has the only suspension that lasts past 2027.
