Jaylen Reed Involved In Car Accident

Penn State football safety Jaylen Reed was involved in a recent car accident, a Penn State Athletics spokesperson confirmed to Onward State on Saturday evening. Reed will seemingly still play in the first round of the College Football Playoff against SMU on Saturday, December 21.

“Jaylen Reed was involved in a car accident,” a Penn State spokesperson wrote to Onward State. “We are happy he’s okay and there were no serious injuries. He will continue to prepare for this weekend.”

Reed, a senior expected to enter the NFL Draft after the 2024 season, has been Penn State’s leader in the secondary this season. He’s made 13 starts with 79 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, five interceptions, and a forced fumble.

Penn State will face SMU at noon on Saturday in Beaver Stadium’s first home playoff game. The game will air on TNT and stream on Max.
