Penn State Men’s Volleyball Releases 2025 Schedule
Penn State men’s volleyball released its schedule for the 2025 season Monday evening. The Nittany Lions will play 28 games, including three mid-season tournaments at neutral sites.
The Nittany Lions start their season on the road as they face Loyola University of Chicago on Friday, January 10, before facing Lewis University the following day on January 11.
The following week, Penn State will travel to Austin, Texas to participate in the First Point Collegiate Challenge. The team will face Stanford on Friday, January 17, before facing UCLA the next day.
The Nittany Lions will play their first home game on Thursday, January 23, as they’re taking on Ohio State in Rec Hall before traveling to Columbus to face the Buckeyes again on Sunday, January 26.
Penn State will stay in Columbus throughout the week to participate in the Big Ten Challenge, facing UCLA on Friday, January 31. The team will then play USC at 4 p.m. the following day.
After that, Penn State will travel to Massachusetts to face Harvard in a two-game set from February 7 to 8. The Nittany Lions will then face St. Francis University in a two-game set, with the first being played away in Loretto on February 14 and the next being played at home the following day.
Penn State will then travel to New Jersey to take on NJIT for two games on February 21 and 22. The second game will mark Penn State’s first EIVA game of the season.
The Nittany Lions will then travel back home to face Merrimack on Friday, February 28, before traveling to face Grand Canyon in Arizona from March 8 to 9.
Then, Penn State will take part in its third and final tournament of the season as they travel to Honolulu to take part in the Outrigger Volleyball Invitational. The team will play three games with the first one being against conference opponents USC on Thursday, March 13.
Then the Nittany Lions will play two games in one day as they will place the Hawaii at 1 a.m. on Saturday, May 15, before playing Ball State later in the day at 10 p.m.
After the long road trip, Penn State returns home to four straight EIVA home games as they face Charleston from March 28 to 29, and Sacred Heart from April 4 to 5.
The Nittany Lions will then travel to Virginia to face George Mason from April 11 to 12 before coming back home to face Princeton in their final games of the season on Friday, April 18, and Saturday, April 19.
The EIVA tournament will take place from Wednesday, April 23, to Saturday, April 26, at the site of the No. 1 seed.
Last year, Penn State men’s volleyball finished with a 23-7 record and a flawless 10-0 record against conference opponents, leading to a birth in the NCAA Tournament after winning the EIVA championship against George Mason. The Nittany Lions then lost their NCAA Tournament quarterfinals matchup against UC Irvine.
