Penn State Women’s Volleyball Outside Hitter Jess Mruzik Signs With League One Volleyball Houston

Jess Mruzik is a pro.

Less than 24 hours after being named the NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player and winning a National Championship, the Penn State women’s volleyball outside hitter signed with LOVB Houston of League One Volleyball.

Mruzik’s signing comes after a two-year career at Penn State where she had over 1,000 total kills and became an AVCA First-Team All-American as a fifth-year senior.

Across her five-year college career, three years of which were spent at Michigan, Mruzik averaged just under four kills per set to go along with 1,192 total digs and 261 total blocks.

Mruzik will join former Penn State setter Micha Hancock, the 2013 NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player and 2014 National Champion, in Houston.

The League One Volleyball season is set to begin on January 9, when Houston will host Austin at the Fort Bend County Epicenter at 7 p.m. with the match streamed on ESPN+.
