Safety Tyrece Mills No Longer With Penn State Football

Penn State football safety Tyrece Mills is no longer with the program, a Penn State Athletics spokesperson confirmed to Onward State Monday evening. Mills played 13 games, primarily on special teams this season.

The redshirt junior started his college career at Lackawanna Community College in Scranton, Pennsylvania where played two seasons, totaling 45 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, one sack, five pass breakups, and four interceptions.

Mills transferred to the Nittany Lions in 2022 and redshirted that season. In 2023, he appeared in six games and made two tackles. In 2024, Mills recorded 15 tackles, one pass breakup, and one interception in the Fiesta Bowl.

Mills is expected to enter the transfer portal and will join Feyisayo Oluleye, Jerry Cross, T.A. Cunningham, and Beau Pribula who have already entered the portal. Cam Miller has reportedly entered the portal and Tyler Johnson and Mehki Flowers are expected to enter as well.
