Penn State Men’s Volleyball Falls To No. 14 In AVCA Poll, Will Kuhns Earns EIVA Honors

Penn State men’s volleyball fell to No. 14 in the AVCA Coaches Poll released Monday. The six-spot fall comes after consecutive losses to No. 12 Loyola Chicago and No. 14 Lewis over the weekend. The Nittany Lions lost 6-1 over the two matches.

Despite the losses, outside hitter Will Kuhns was named EIVA Offensive Player of the Week, the team announced Monday.

Kuhns posted 25 kills over the two matches, including a career-high 13 kills against Lewis. He also recorded just four attack errors in the two matches and hit .488 with 3.57 kills per set.

Penn State will try to get back on track this weekend in the First Point Collegiate Challenge in Austin, Texas. The Nittany Lions will face No. 1 UCLA at 5 p.m. on Friday, January 17, followed by No. 11 Standford at 5 p.m. on Saturday, January 18.
