Onward State will be at Wednesday’s involvement fair from 1 to 4 p.m. on the first floor of the Willard Building in the Media Center. A handful of our editors will talk about Onward State, our recruiting process, and what makes Onward State, Onward State.

If you have any questions about Onward State, please stop by! Whether you’re interested in joining our staff or just curious about what we do and how we do it, we’d love to meet you.

For folks interested in joining Onward State, our spring 2025 application closes at noon on Sunday, January 26. We’re excited to hire a talented group of writers, photographers, graphic designers, podcasters, and more. You don’t have to be in the College of Communications to join Onward State, either. While we have impressive alumni who have gone on to work at the likes of the New York Times, Associated Press, Wall Street Journal, and more, we have plenty of alumni who just wanted to tell the Penn State story while in college.

If you write for Onward State, people will read it. If you take photos for Onward State, people will see those, too. Our website consistently garners hundreds of thousands of views each week, and there are countless Penn Staters who are excited to read Onward State every day. We are, in short, Penn State’s blog, covering everything at Penn State from athletics to news, politics, crime, and so much more.
