Three Penn State Women’s Lacrosse Players Named Big Ten Players To Watch

A trio of Penn State women’s lacrosse players were named as part of the Big Ten players to watch, the conference announced Wednesday.  Ellie Hollin, Kelly MacKinney, and Sydney Manning were all recognized.

This acknowledgment is Hollin’s third preseason honor of 2025 as a senior.  Earlier, Hollin was named as a preseason first-team All-American by USA Lacrosse Magazine and Inside Lacrosse. Last season, the defender secured the most caused turnovers and the most ground balls on the team.

Returning sophomores, MacKinney and Manning, also achieved accolades last season. MacKinney became the fourth-leading scorer of the 2024 season and Manning was named the 2024 Big Ten Freshman of the Year.

During last season, MacKinney was ranked in the top ten in the conference with 39 points on 14 goals and 25 assists. Manning, a goaltender, started 16 games last season, making 100 saves and scooping up 24 ground balls.

Penn State is currently ranked five in the Big Ten women’s lacrosse preseason poll. The Nittany Lions’ first match of the season kicks off at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 8, at Panzer Stadium.
