Saquon Barkley Named NFL Offensive Player Of The Year

Was there ever a doubt?

Former Penn State football and current Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley was named NFL Offensive Player of the Year for the 2024-25 season, on Thursday night. With the win, Barkley became the first ever Penn Stater to win the AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year award.

Barkley had an incredible year, becoming the ninth player in NFL history to rush for at least 2,000 yards in a regular season. Barkley ended the year with 2,005 rushing yards on 345 attempts and 13 rushing touchdowns. He also hauled in 33 receptions for 278 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Barkley broke several Eagles franchise records including the single-season rushing yards record and the single-game rushing record with his 255-yard game against the Los Angeles Rams.

Barkley will look to crown his amazing season with a championship as he and the Eagles are preparing for their Super Bowl matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. Super Bowl LIX will kick off at 6:30 p.m. in the Ceasars Superdome in New Orleans on Sunday, February 9.
