Report: Notre Dame Targeting Penn State Running Backs Coach Ja’Juan Seider

Notre Dame is close to hiring Penn State football running back coach Ja’Juan Seider as its next running backs coach, according to On3’s Pete Nakos, and the deal is expected to get done. Seider has worked with the Nittany Lions for six years as their running backs coach.

In addition to his duties as running backs coach, Seider serves as assistant head coach to James Franklin and co-offensive coordinator for Andy Kotelnicki.

Seider first came to Penn State in 2018 and immediately helped running back Miles Sanders reach the NFL Draft. The halfback rushed for 1,274 yards that year, the 11th-most yards in a single season in program history.

Seider also helped develop the likes of Journey Brown before taking over the development of Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen. Penn State’s current running back duo, which is set to return next year, has established itself as two of the program’s best-ever running backs.

Before working at Penn State, Seider spent one season at Florida, four seasons at his alma mater West Virginia, and three years at Marshall. He coached high school football in Florida for seven years before his first stint working at West Virginia coaching quarterbacks.
