Two Valentine’s Day Playlists For Any Mood

Happy Valentine’s Day, folks.

Whether you’re in love or miserable like the rest of us, Onward State has a way to get you through your day. One of our staffers, happily in a relationship, prepared a Valentine’s Day playlist for all the lovers out there. Another staffer, who’s depressingly alone and stares at the ceiling at night, made a playlist for everyone else.

Ally’s Playlist: Lucky You, You’re In Love!

For all of you folks reading out there, we hope this playlist is the one you get to listen to today. This playlist captures the sweet and bubbly feelings of being in love. Coupled with anticipation and excitement, this playlist will have you smiling on your walk to class as you don your red and pink.

These songs are perfect to put on for your date tonight, to reminisce about happy memories, or just to be appreciative of all of the moments of love in your life. With songs like “You Are in Love” by Taylor Swift and “Friday I’m in Love” by Phoebe Bridgers (extremely fitting for this Valentine’s Day), we hope you get everything your heart desires today.

From classics, to pop hits, to country love songs that tell a story, we hope you feel all of the Valentine’s love with these tunes. And if not, better luck next year.

Ryan’s Playlist:  For The V*lentine’s Day Haters

“It could be worse… Oh, wait. This is the worst.”

Ugh. While Ally gets to be all happy, in a relationship, and…happy, I’m here spending yet another Valentine’s Day alone! That’s OK, though, because I love the single life!

While I may not have a girlfriend this Valentine’s Day, I can always fall back on the music that I love the most. Whether you’re sad that you’re single or happy that you escaped an awful relationship, I’ve got you covered.

If you want to cry, listen to songs like “Dancing On My Own” by Calum Scott or “I Love You, I’m Sorry” by Gracie Abrams. And if you hate your ex, situationship, or that person from home or Penn State that you are constantly asking, “What are we?” to, play songs like “Breakin’ Dishes” by Rihanna, or “Bye Bye Bye” by NSYNC on full blast.

You know what, who cares? I’m gonna sit back, relax, and judge all the cringe-worthy Valentine’s Day posts I see on Instagram. Oh, and what Honcho Moonk said.
