Penn State Men’s Volleyball Moves Up To No. 19 In Latest AVCA Poll

Penn State men’s volleyball has moved up one spot to No. 19 in the latest AVCA Poll, released Monday afternoon.

This came after the Nittany Lions went 2-0 against Saint Francis this weekend as they swept the Red Flash back-back on the road and their home opener.

Penn State is the highest-ranked team from the EIVA Conference in the poll, as Princeton checked into the poll at No. 20 after being unranked last week. NJIT, Penn State’s opponent this week, dropped out of the poll after being ranked No. 19.

Also, Penn State’s Matthew Luoma was named EIVA’s Offensive Player of the Week after tallying 27 kills, a .458 hitting percentage, four aces, seven blocks, and three digs during the two-game series against Saint Francis.

The Nittany Lions will work to extend their winning streak this weekend as they hit the road to take on NJIT in a two-game series. The first match will be played at 6 p.m. on Friday, February 21, while the second match will be played at 7 p.m. on Saturday, February 22.
