Where Do Nittany Lions Land In Post-Super Bowl Mock Drafts?

With Super Bowl LIX in the rear-view mirror, the 2025 NFL Draft order is officially set.
NFL scouts and personnel departments will divert most of their attention to evaluating this year’s college prospects that have declared for the draft.
College All-Star games such as the Reese’s Senior Bowl and East-West Shrine Bowl have also concluded, giving prospects some extra opportunities to boost their draft stock before they head to Lucas Oil Stadium at the end of February to participate in the annual NFL Combine in Indianapolis.
As the brunt of the NFL Draft process goes into motion, let’s take a peek at where the draft-eligible Penn State players are projected to go.
Chris Trapasso (CBS Sports)
CBS analyst Chris Trapasso has a Penn Stater toward the top of his latest mock draft, projecting stand-out edge rusher Abdul Carter to land with the Cleveland Browns with the second overall pick of the draft.
“After moving Garrett to the NFC, the Browns replenish the No. 1 edge-rusher spot with a youthful, uber-athletic talent who costs a fraction of the price,” he wrote.
Trapasso predicts another Nittany Lion to go in the first 10 selections, with 2024 Mackey Award winner Tyler Warren heading to the New Orleans Saints. He has the 22-year-old as the highest-ranked tight end in the entire class and refers to Warren as a “freakish specimen at the tight end position.”
Rob Rang (FOX Sports)
In his latest mock draft for FOX Sports, Rob Rang slates Carter to the Tennessee Titans, making him the first Penn State player to be selected with the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft since Courtney Brown went first overall to the Cleveland Browns in 2000.
“Carter is one of a handful of true blue-chip prospects in this class, offering an exceptional upside at a premium position,” Rang said. He added that Carter has “10-plus sack potential as a rookie.”
Just as Trapasso, Rang believes Warren will be a top-10 selection, however, he has his destination set on the New York Jets at seventh overall. He describes Warren as “sure-handed” and the “elite pass-catching talent of this class” who can help out whoever the new quarterback of the Jets will be.
Kyle Dvorchak (NBC Sports)
Kyle Dvorchak projects Carter to end up in Cleveland with the second overall pick in his latest mock draft for NBC Sports.
The uncertainty of Myles Garrett’s future in Cleveland seems a large factor in analysts predicting Abdul Carter to go second overall with the Browns.
Dvorchak also pairs Warren with the Indianapolis Colts at 14th overall, repeating the common theme of two first-round picks out of Happy Valley in 2025.
Nick Baumgardner (The Athletic)
Nick Baumgardner also believes the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year will be the first name off the board in the upcoming NFL Draft, sending Carter to the Titans in his latest mock draft.
Baumgardner projects Warren to go to the Colts with the 14th pick, a seemingly popular fit among analysts.
Tankathon
In Tankathon’s most recent simulation, Carter is once again slotted to the Browns with the second pick, and Warren heads to the Colts 12 selections later.
While no Nittany Lions go off the board in the second round, Tankathon believes KJ Winston, who missed nearly the entirety of the 2024 season with an injury, will wind up with the Jacksonville Jaguars in the top of the third round with the 70th pick.
