What To Do In State College Over Spring Break

So, you’re stuck in Happy Valley over break. We got you covered.

Whether you’re sticking around campus or just in town for a few days, State College offers a perfect mix of sports, arts, and activities to keep you both busy and de-stressed. There’s no shortage of excitement in town this spring break.

From sporting events to performances, here’s your guide to the top things to do in State College between Friday, March 7, and Sunday, March 16.

Sports

Although many students are heading home or out of the country, some Penn State athletes are still in full swing. Baseball, softball, and men’s and women’s lacrosse all have home games over spring break. Admission is free for students, so why not enjoy the incoming spring weather while supporting the Nittany Lions?

Penn State Baseball

  • Penn State vs. Indiana — Noon on Friday, March 7, at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park
  • Penn State vs. Indiana — 3 p.m. on Friday, March 7, at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park
  • Penn State vs. Indiana — 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 9, at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park

Penn State Softball

  • Penn State vs. Fairfield — 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 9, at Beard Field
  • Penn State vs. Lafayette — 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 9, at Beard Field

Penn State Men’s Lacrosse

  • Penn State vs. Robert Morris — 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12, at Panzer Stadium

Penn State Women’s Lacrosse

  • Penn State vs. Maryland — 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, at Panzer Stadium (White Out)

Arts & Entertainment

The State Theatre

Throughout the year, The State Theatre hosts live shows and bands in its attic, along with a variety of fan-favorite movies in Friedman Auditorium. Tickets for all the live shows over break range from $35 to $40. Movie screening tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students.

  • “2001: A Space Odyssey” — 8 p.m. on Friday, March 7, in Friedman Auditorium
  • “Beauty and the Beast” — 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, in Friedman Auditorium
  • “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (Extended)” — 7 p.m. on Friday, March 7, in Friedman Auditorium
  • “The Raging Bull” — 8 p.m. on Friday, March 14, in Friedman Auditorium
  • “Singing in the Rain” — 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 16, in Friedman Auditorium

On-Campus Performances

During spring break, the final musical performance of “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” will take place at The Playhouse Theatre. Additionally, “Winter Jam 2025,” featuring Christian music’s biggest performers, including Skillet, Anne Wilson, KB, Colton Dixon, Newsong, Micah Tyler, and speaker Zane Black will be held in the Bryce Jordan Center.
