[Photo Story] Penn State Hoops 2024-25 Season

At least they ended the season with a win.

Penn State men’s basketball has officially wrapped up its season, missing out on March Madness and opting to decline another postseason appearance as Mike Rhoades’ second year came to a close. The Nittany Lions finished with a 16-15 record, landing 17th in the Big Ten.

Despite a promising 12-2 start, the season didn’t unfold as many fans had hoped. Still, our photographers were there to capture all the action. Let’s take a look back at some of our favorite moments from the season.

What is this, Dunk City?

In their Big Ten opener, the Nittany Lions pulled off a stunning upset over No. 8 Purdue, forcing 24 turnovers and securing an 81-70 victory, which led to a court storm.

The team made plays all over the court.

For the third consecutive year, the Nittany Lions returned to the Cathedral of College Basketball, the Palestra.

Big plays led to even bigger celebrations.

For the second consecutive season, hoops returned to Rec Hall.

The Nittany Lions traveled to Baltimore, Maryland, and defeated the Virginia Tech Hokies 86-64 in the Hall of Fame Series.

Despite missing out on the Big Ten Tournament, the Nittany Lions closed their season with an upset victory over Wisconsin on the road.

Maybe next year’s the year?
